Step 12 · Quote Total, PDF, and Acumatica Actions

The whole quote should total all line items together, generate a single PDF, support quote duplication, and control when a quote can be added to the service order in Acumatica.

Review and Output

The new quote model changes how users capture information, but not the business outcome: they still need one quote total, one customer-facing PDF, and a controlled path for adding exactly one quote into Acumatica as the active order state.

Requirements

  • Aggregate line-item totals into one quote total.
  • Provide a PDF preview for the full quote and support sharing from that preview state.
  • Copying a quote duplicates the quote-level sections and all line items.
  • Keep the rule that only one quote can become the order.
  • Add to Acumatica must confirm the action before submission.
  • Add to Acumatica is only available if no other quote has already been added to Acumatica for that service order.
  • Once a quote is added to Acumatica, it receives the order tag and other quotes are locked from Add to Acumatica.

Open Item

We still need Mike's input on how quotes should be re-enabled if service-order lines are deleted later in Acumatica or if the customer changes the spec after an order-tagged quote has already been pushed.
